Temple Trips

On Friday of last week I got to help watch Kristi's little ones for a few hours. They are all so cute. Hazel really cracks me up. At one point she asked, "Is your name mom?" And Kristi said since she has been back from her trip, Hazel keeps asking her if Kristi's name is mom. She'll get it all sorted out.

On Saturday afternoon, Kory and I drove to the Star Valley, WY temple. We had a nice lunch at the Red Baron drive-in and then went through a session. It's a really pretty temple--really small too. We ran into a couple Kory knows from Idaho Falls who were doing the same thing we were.

The drive around Palisades was gorgeous. Right now the reservoir is only about 8% full, so it was weird to see it so low.

Last night we took a woman Kory has home taught for years and her daughter, Priscilla, to the temple open house. Priscilla just linked onto Kory and held his hand through the whole tour. She has special needs and is unable to talk, but she would walk up and tap the things she liked. When we walked through the visitor's center she caught sight of the Christus and just marched over there to tap it. It was really neat to go through with those two.

I'm looking forward to filling an assignment as a temple usher tomorrow. It's fun to pitch in with all of the stakes in the area to help with the open house. Can't wait for the dedication.

April 2023

April 2023 On April 1 and 2 we chilled and watched General Conference. On the first, we got a new cat to replace Todd. This cat’s name is Taco, she is a girl, and she’s a tortoiseshell calico. She and Binx have taken quite a while to warm up to each other, but I think we’ll get there. She is cuddly like Todd, so we all like that.  On April 4 I watched Season 3 of The Mandalorian with my dad. On the 5 th , Kory and I took Austin and Leah to the Bee’s Knees for a birthday dinner. They have really great food there and it was fun to visit.  On April 6, we had BYUI Graduation. It was fun to be there, since I’ve missed the past year due to my cancer. On the 7 th , Kory, me, and Caleb babysat for Austin and Leah. It was fun putting the kids to bed and singing with them. Stevie loves the song “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” so we sang that a bunch. On April 8, Kory and I went on a little date. We drove up to Driggs and had dinner at O’ Rourkes and then stopped and visited with m...

Pie Face

Chloe had her tenth birthday and she asked for the game Pie Face. Yep, you've seen it. The one where everyone takes turns getting whipped cream in the face. Here are some precious moments. Chloe also got a little fort-making kit for her birthday, so we've had these structures in the family room for a few weeks now.

January/February 2023

January 2023 On January 3 we helped Caleb move back into his apartment on campus and took Phoebe to Fuji for her birthday dinner. On the 7 th , we went to Austin and Leah’s and had some delicious Olive Garden takeout and watched some of Matilda the Musical. On January 12, we went through the Rexburg temple with my niece Maddie. On January 14 th , I went to a baby shower for my niece Kami. She is the first grandchild to have a baby, so this will be my parents first great-grandchild. On the 27 th , we had a new addition to our household. That afternoon, Phoebe asked me if there was any way we could consider getting another cat. Her friend had to move and wouldn’t be able to take the cat to the new location. For some reason, I agreed, and she picked him up that afternoon. He’s an orange cat, and was originally named Scar, but our girls named him Todd after the Fox and the Hound . Binx was NOT happy at the new family member. He hissed and growled at Todd, who didn’t seem overly c...
