Never a Dull Moment

I have been dating Kory since June and I have to say there's never been a dull moment. Take last night for instance. We were going to go out on a date, but he remembered he had his kids that night, so I suggested we go to the straw maze. So, we took his two youngest kids and my niece to Arctic Circle for dinner, then headed to the straw maze. One thing a father of eight is good at is eating all the leftovers of his kids at restaurants. And he's not at all phased by germs. As we were heading into the maze, Caleb decided he didn't want to go--he thought it looked too creepy. So, Kory coaxed him in. Caleb said, "I think it might help if I thought about one of your songs"--since Kory writes songs. We followed the kids through the maze, stealing a few kisses when they rounded the turns ahead of us. About twenty minutes in, Chloe said, "I hate this. My legs hurt. When are we going to be done." Even Kory seemed to be getting a little worried that we

Three Times a Bridesmaid, Never A Bride....

So, this really miraculous thing has been happening in the past year. All of the old-maid types like me have been getting married. I'm not sure why this is the magic year, but I've had four or five great friends get married. A couple of weeks ago I went down to Utah to go to the wedding of Brenda, one of my best friends. I stayed the night with Wendy, another old roommate, then went to the Timp Temple for the sealing. Brenda was beaming and so happy. After the temple, Wendy and I took our friend, Annie, to lunch at Zupa's. I wish we had one of those in Idaho. It was kind of funny, because I was, of course, talking all about Kory while we were in line, and I looked up and there were these two people pointing at me. It was Kory's sister Jodi and her husband. What a coincidence. :) After that I headed to Provo and went to my Aunt Linda's house. We visited for awhile and then went to dinner at Molly's, this really great little cafe near her hou

Better Late Than Never

So, I mentioned a few weeks ago that I had been going out with a cool guy, and since it hasn't hit the fan yet, I'm going to write about it. :) In June, my friend BJ, who is in my PhD carpool called and said his friend Kory wanted to take me out. I said that would be fun, and we doubled with BJ and his wife Camille. We ate at Costa Vida and hiked the R mountain to watch the sunset, then had ice-cream. I was kind of caught off guard because I had so much fun and that really doesn't happen all that often to me. It was a couple of weeks before I saw Kory again and this date was a little unusual. When he called to ask me out, his phone was cutting out and I said, "I heard dinner tomorrow night. But I didn't hear the rest of it." He said, "What I said was, would you like to go to dinner with all of my siblings and their spouses tomorrow night." I said, "What the heck." So, it was a very eventful date. I won't go into all the detai
