December

December was full of some of our usual traditions. We did our name-drawing and made a mass trip to Walmart to purchase the gifts, wrap them, and put them under the tree. Kory and I ate at Kneaders one night and got to see our favorite baker, Madi. She's been working there for a month or so and really likes it. I went to hear Morgan's report on Native Americans at school. Austin and Leah were in town for the holidays, so we loved spending time with them. They came over one morning and we had breakfast and played with Andy. She is definitely in a stuffed animal phase! We were also excited to find out that Austin and Leah will be having a baby girl at the end of May, so Andy will have a sister! On Christmas morning, the kids came over around 10:00 and we had our visit with Isaac over Skype. He's doing great and loves the area he's serving in. We look forward to having him back home with us in July. Here's Caleb with some of the 60-70 Lego

November

Morgan had her tenth birthday this November! She asked for pistachio cake for her birthday, so we put some candles in some pistachio muffins from Broulims. She has very grown up taste buds. November was a pretty quiet month. I was super busy at work and devoting weekends to working on my dissertation, do there wasn’t much to report. I went to the annual National Council of Teachers of English convention in Houston, TX with three of my colleagues at BYU-Idaho. We try to go every other year and it’s something I look forward to. Along with a weeks’ worth of sessions, speakers, and authors we managed to hit a few sites in Houston. We went to NASA Space Center for a tour, ate at House of Blues, attended a Houston Rockets NBA basketball game, and went on a bike tour of the city. It’s a fun city that I would love to go back to with Kory someday. For Thanksgiving, the kids were with their mom. Kory and I went to my parents’ house for the feast. Shawn and Jo

Halloween 2018

Chloe had her first 7th grade choir concert, so that was fun to go and watch.  We've been trying to take the kids to do baptisms as often as we can, so here's a little photo before. We decided it might be time to get Caleb a suit so he didn't look like a ragamuffin. He's looking all grown up and 15. We went to the ward Trunk or Treat and the kids came although they definitely thought they were too old for it. Chloe was an M&M with her friends and Morgan was Mario from the Mario Cart video game. Caleb has so many different costumes in his closet that he can pretty much take his pick, but he decided to focus on some of his Goosebumps masks. We had our annual FHE to carve pumpkins. Kenzie and Ryker joined us--and we were also kind of celebrating Ryker's birthday at the same time. This year only Chloe carved and the rest chose to paint their pumpkins. Halloween night turned out to be really cold, so Morgan was the on
