July 14-24

On the 14th, I went to Rexburg to get my hair done. Morgan chose to come with me, but she wasn't too fond of the smell in the salon. But I knew she was pretty interested in all of the stuff going on in the salon. She got so close to the woman doing my hair I had to tell her to move back. Sure enough, as she was playing a few days later, she now was in the salon business, with nail polish displays and cash registers and the whole business. She makes me laugh. That night, Kory and I spoke at a Girl's Camp. A friend of mine from high school asked me and Kory to speak. Their theme was The Happiest Place on Earth, with some Disney tie-ins, so I wrote my talk about What Not To Do According to Disney Princesses. It was kind of a fun night. Kory won the men's trivia contest about Disney Princesses. He doesn't have five daughters for nothing.  The next night, Kory spoke for our stake young men's high adventure group. They had just climbed Table Rock, and they w

Fourth of July and Pokemon Go

We covered a lot of ground on the fourth! We started out in Rexburg, watching the parade with some of my family. We got there just as the Anderson's crossed the finish line for the Main Street mile. Kristi said she was surprised how fast Eli took off. When she caught up to him, he was crying, because he thought his family had left him behind--when in fact they were behind him. We left the parade a little early and met some friends of Kory's at the golf course for a quick 9 holes. After golf, we headed to Driggs for a great dinner with the Kunz's. Then we visited and rode some 4-wheelers. We headed back home, watched a movie, and watched some of the Melaleuca fireworks out our bedroom window--yes we are old and lazy. The kids spent the day with their mom, so they arrived after the fireworks and we all caught up. One new thing that happened this week. Our children got a little extra exercise as they wandered the neighborhood looking for Pokemon.

Where is Summer Going?

Okay, just like that, it's July. So a little bit of catch up for June. We had a family CES activity at Steadman Ranch, outside of Pocatello. It's really just someone's back yard, but it has a couple of cool slip n slides and a zip line with some picnic shelters. The little kids had fun on the slip n slides. I went down once, and then kind of vegged because I was feeling sick--have a nasty head cold. We've also spent some time babysitting Ryker, McKenzie's little boy. Here he is as Batman. We had a little get together for my dad's birthday. Kristi hosted it at her house and we had dinner and played outside. I've been wanting to try out the bike trail at the Blackfoot Reservoir for a long time, so, Kory and I figured out how to hitch up our bike rack and took Morgan on a little adventure. Had to grab some slices of pie from the Homestead to finish it off. Kory and I had some free time, so we took a trip to Star Valley and had
