Book Lovers Unite

One of my big challenges is to try to get Kory to like reading. I managed to get him to pick up a book on the plane ride home from our honeymoon. It was a young adult book called Bruiser and Kory really liked it. He kind of got stalled in the next one I gave him, but I still have hope. He does however really like the reading glasses I introduced him to, which helps him prepare his gospel doctrine classes much easier. All of the kids are FASCINATED with these glasses. People who don't really need glasses always think they are much cuter than those of us who can't walk across a room without wearing glasses/contacts. Yes, when I go to the eye doctor he often says, "Wow, your eyes are really bad." That's thanks to my dear old mom.  One person I don't need to convince of the wonders of books is Chloe. Kory and I took her to the library one Saturday and we had a good time looking around. Lots of fun reading chairs there, as Chloe is demonstrating here.

Sky Diving and Etc

So,  before I joined the family, Kory started a GREAT tradition in which he offers to take any of his kids skydiving when they turn 18 (was there a little sarcasm there....yes). So, Madison decided she wanted to give it a whirl before she left for her mission and Lakyn decided she would do it too. So, Saturday we piled in the car and headed off to Skydive Ogden. We had a nice chat on the way down and then arrived at the place right by the Ogden Airport. We were really impressed with this place....they really knew what they were doing.        Now, although I have traveled a lot and have a lot of things on my bucket list, I have never ever had a desire to jump out of an airplane. Just....no. So, I stayed on the ground and watched them float towards the earth. It just so happened that my friend Karen's husband Faris, from Turkey, was one of the tandem jumpers, so I said hi to him and then Karen came over with her kids so we could catch up a little bit. That was a fun perk
