Sugar City Shower

Okay, I have been so spoiled with all these bridal showers. My last one was last night--thrown by my mom, sister, and sister-in-law. There were lots of friends, cousins, aunts, and ward members. It was so fun to see everyone and just visit and celebrate. I'm so grateful to all the good friends I've been blessed with. Mom and Kristi preparing the goodies. Abby snitching M&Ms. Kristi, me, Mom. A couple of the awesome Luke family. My gorgeous sister-in-law Amy and Isabelle. Lisa Luke's cool Tangled hair. My great friend Kris Powell. The Galbraiths and Jennifer Taylor, the Bishop's wife. CarolLynn puckering up. She and I were dating and getting engaged at the same time, so we hid out in the bathroom a couple of Sundays during Sunday School to share stories. Sistah Banks. My awesome MTC companion and great friend, Marla Cluff. Mom with great ladies from my ward. Sister Johnson and life-long friend Heidi Southw

Lady A

So, my Christmas present from Kory was tickets to the Lady Antebellum concert in Salt Lake. I'm not a huge country fan, but I absolutely love this group--their harmony is like buttah to me. So, even though I was feeling sick, we needed to head to Utah to see the concert. We went early to do some stuff on Temple Square. One of Kory's students works in media for Seminaries and Institutes, so he gave us a behind-the-scenes tour of the conference center, underground tunnels, and the media department. Pretty interesting stuff. After all that we went and ate at the Cheesecake Factory at City Creek Mall. We wanted to get out of our church clothes, so we went and changed in the car, which was pretty funny. Then we went back and walked around the shops in City Creek. We headed to the Delta Center and prepped for the concert. It was funny to see the mix of people. Lots of older people, plus the usual younger crowd. My only complaint is they had two opening groups and the

The Week 'n Stuff

This has been a fairly crazy week. On the wedding front, I was trying to get out invitations, which has been the most difficult aspect of wedding planning. Between the two of us, we know a lot of people, and I'm sure I've forgotten many who I should have sent one to. But I did have some help in the various stuffing, sealing, stamping stages of the endeavor. On Monday, I took some of my nieces to meet Kory and his kids at Starlite Skating in IF. I didn't feel like skating aka falling down, so I just watched, but everyone else had a blast. Kory's a good skater. After skating we went to Taco Bell and then to the house to watch some Mormon Messages and have a prayer. Kristi has had Jodi's kids with her for the week, since Jodi was spending a lot of time at the hospital. Luckily, Jodi was able to bring Creed home and he appears to be doing well. They will meet with a neurologist soon to figure out what to do about the water on the brain. The day afte

Flashback

So, I had some computer problems and somehow forgot to catch up on my trip to Utah at the beginning of January. It was a quick trip, without Kory, because he was busy. On Friday evening I went to Wendy's house and we went to a her son's swim meet, which was fun to watch. I've never been to one. Then we came back to the house and had a roommate reunion with all of the girls who lived in Wendy's house and their spouses. The next day these same wonderful ladies threw me a bridal shower for my friends and relatives in Utah. It was so much fun. So great to see my aunt, sister, nieces, sister-in-law, childhood friends, friends from when I taught high school, mission companions, Utah State friends. It was like a trip down memory lane and it was so fun and meant so much to me that people would come.
