Then They Do

This song has been tugging at my heartstrings lately. It's an old country song and these are the words: In the early rush of morning Trying to get the kids to school One's hangin' on my shirt tail The other's locked up in her room And I'm yellin' up the stairs "Stop worrying about your hair, you look fine" Then they're fightin' in the back seat And I'm playing referee Now someone's gotta go The moment that we leave And everybody's late I swear I can't wait 'til they grow up Then they do And that's how it is It's just quiet in the morning Can't believe how much you miss All they do And all they did You want all the dreams they've dreamed of to come true Then they do The part that is getting to me lately is this: No more Monday PTAs No more carpools or soccer games Your work is done Now you've got time that's all your own You've been waiting for so long For those days to come Every

Pie Face

Chloe had her tenth birthday and she asked for the game Pie Face. Yep, you've seen it. The one where everyone takes turns getting whipped cream in the face. Here are some precious moments. Chloe also got a little fort-making kit for her birthday, so we've had these structures in the family room for a few weeks now.

Logan Road Trip

So Saturday, Kory and I took a road trip to Logan. It was a beautiful Spring day. Nearly 60 degrees. We made it just in time for a session at the Logan Temple, which was a real trip down memory lane for me. When I went to Utah State, I used to walk to the temple all the time to do sessions. So fun to be back. After the session, we drove to Maddox in Brigham City. It was worth the 40 minute wait. Love their food! After that, we just headed back home. Nice little day trip!

Birthday 2016

Well, my 45th birthday is today. We went to church after springing forward, so everyone feels a little hung over from Daylight Savings. After church, Kory made dinner and all of the kids came over. Love having all of these happy kids in our home. We've got four games going on--Kory on Solitaire, Chloe and Morgan on Minecraft, Austin and company at the little kids table, and the rest at the kitchen table. That's what I call game time. Ryker is definitely the rock star, with every fighting to hold him.

Roomie Reunion

This past weekend, Kory and I took a quick trip to Utah for a roommate reunion. We got down to Lehi around seven and met Bob and Wendy at Zupa's. As we were waiting in line, Kory was sitting at a table and the girl in front of me said, "Not to be weird, but is that Kory Kunz?" Turns out she and her husband worked at Melaleuca for awhile and her husband really liked Kory. She said, " My husband was just talking about Kory the other day and how much he had helped and inspired him." Yes, it's hard to go anywhere without someone knowing Kory. After dinner, we went to Bob and Wendy's and watched some Jim Gaffigan in their awesome theatre room. We all laughed our guts out and then hit the hay. The next morning, Wendy, Kory and I went for a hike up into the hills behind her house there in The Ranches. It was great. After the hike, we got ready and had  a blast when everyone came over for lunch, Some of the husbands were able to join us and be good s
