Memorial Day and Summer's on Its Way

Summer is in the air and the kids are getting very trunky for school to be out. Chloe and Morgan stopped by the Sno n Go for a sno-cone to get in the mood. Phoebe will be working at the Sno n  Go all summer. 

Super proud of my nephew Caden, who graduated as valedictorian at Madison High School. He sang with the choir seen below (he's the tall one on the front) and gave a speech. He and his family moved to Oregon the next morning, so it was a nice way to go out with a bang.






For Memorial Day the kids were with their mom, so Kory and I hit a lot of cemeteries on our own. On Sunday, we visited the Ammon, Annis, Rexburg, and Sugar City cemeteries. On Monday we went to Victor and saw a short program to honor the veterans and then had a cook out with Kory's parents and brothers. Austin and Leah stopped by so that Deanne could hold her great-granddaughter, Andy.




We are ready to bring on summer. And....random picture of Chloe.

  April 2023 On April 1 and 2 we chilled and watched General Conference. On the first, we got a new cat to replace Todd. This cat’s name is Taco, she is a girl, and she’s a tortoiseshell calico. She and Binx have taken quite a while to warm up to each other, but I think we’ll get there. She is cuddly like Todd, so we all like that.  On April 4 I watched Season 3 of The Mandalorian with my dad. On the 5 th , Kory and I took Austin and Leah to the Bee’s Knees for a birthday dinner. They have really great food there and it was fun to visit.  On April 6, we had BYUI Graduation. It was fun to be there, since I’ve missed the past year due to my cancer. On the 7 th , Kory, me, and Caleb babysat for Austin and Leah. It was fun putting the kids to bed and singing with them. Stevie loves the song “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” so we sang that a bunch. Pie Face

Chloe had her tenth birthday and she asked for the game Pie Face. Yep, you've seen it. The one where everyone takes turns getting whipped cream in the face. Here are some precious moments. Chloe also got a little fort-making kit for her birthday, so we've had these structures in the family room for a few weeks now.

January/February 2023

  January 2023 On January 3 we helped Caleb move back into his apartment on campus and took Phoebe to Fuji for her birthday dinner. On the 7 th , we went to Austin and Leah’s and had some delicious Olive Garden takeout and watched some of Matilda the Musical. On January 12, we went through the Rexburg temple with my niece Maddie. On January 14 th , I went to a baby shower for my niece Kami. She is the first grandchild to have a baby, so this will be my parents first great-grandchild. On the 27 th , we had a new addition to our household. That afternoon, Phoebe asked me if there was any way we could consider getting another cat. Her friend had to move and wouldn’t be able to take the cat to the new location. For some reason, I agreed, and she picked him up that afternoon. He’s an orange cat, and was originally named Scar, but our girls named him Todd after the Fox and the Hound . Binx was NOT happy at the new family member.
