Christmas Road Trip

Since Kory's parents decided not to come back to Victor for Christmas, we all met in Salt Lake City at the Marriot. We arrived around 3:00 and the kids immediately wanted to go swim, so we did that for awhile. Then we got dressed and headed to look at the lights on Temple Square. I thought the day after Christmas would be a nice mellow time to see the lights, but there were several thousand other people who thought the same thing. A little hard to sleep with a stuffed animal this size. Trying to get the kids going for the road trip was a challenge. After lights, we went to the City Creek Food Court to find some dinner--along with several thousand other people. By this time, Chloe was definitely sounding and looking sick. She had thrown up on Christmas Day and been really tired the rest of the day. She started to get a sore throat as we looked at the lights, so I took her back to the room to get some rest.  All of the adults met in Kory's parents r

Christmas 2014

We didn't have the kids until Christmas Day, so we spent the days before finishing up shopping and other little odds and ends. One night we found The Sound of Music Sing-A-Long on TV and had fun with that for awhile. On Christmas Eve we joined the Gees for caroling as usual. We thought it would be a "small" year so we tried to fit everyone on one wagon. I think there were at least 50 or 60 people, so it wasn't really that small. I thought we were going to break something on the truck or wagon. After that, Kory and I joined Josh and Kasey for an amazing homemade dinner of prime rib and shrimp. We stuffed ourselves and had fun doing puzzles with the kids and then doing the Nativity. Kory looked at these pictures and said, "Oh my goodness, Josh and I have the same head!"  After that we headed home and delivered some presents to a neighbor who we found out was not going to have any toys for her kids in the morning. They ended up having C

My True Love Gave to Me....Rice Bags

Rice bags become a necessity during the winter months. I pretty much always have mine with me and Kory and the kids sometimes fight me for it. So, I decided to make everyone their own rice bag. As with anything crafty, I went to my mom for help and she basically ended up sewing them for me. Kristi and her kids happened to be there having piano lessons when I was making these, so they helped me fill them with rice too.  They turned out really cute.

Deck the Halls

Here's some shots of our casa this Christmas. Caleb found a spare tree in the storage room and decided he wanted his own personal tree, so he decorated it and put his present under it. In case Santa didn't realize it was his, he left a sticky note above it with a drawing of him on it. (The drawing featured him with braces, so I'm not sure if that is his deep-down Christmas wish or what.)

Do You Want to Build A Snowman?

Well, most of December was pretty bare and I was bracing myself for a green Christmas....or shall I say, brownish gray Christmas. Anyway, we got a snowstorm with some nice sticky snowman snow and Chloe and Morgan headed to the backyard to make a creation.

It's That Time of Year

Well, it's fun to be getting close to Christmas. I went to a couple of Christmas concerts on Friday for Chloe and Caleb. Here are some not-so-great pics from my phone. Yesterday we had two wards parties and tithing settlement. In the morning we had a breakfast and Santa visits for the kids. The kids were invited to wear their pajamas.  Right after that we had tithing settlement and then we helped clean the church. After the church was clean we gathered all the kids up and went to Big Hero 6 which was a great show.  In the evening, we had a more formal adult dinner and Kory and I sang a duet. So, crazy day but lots of fun.  Santa, I want a Red Rider BB Gun Hot Chocolate Mustache Never too old for Santa! Singing with the Achievement Day Girls
