Get Out on the Highway

The theme of this post will be driving. Kory and I have started commuting to Rexburg together, which is a blast. On MWF we sometimes have Austin join us, since he and Leah recently moved to Idaho Falls. We drop Morgan off at her mom's house, because her school doesn't start until 9:00, then we usually listen to a conference talk to two. Then we drop Kory off at the Rexburg seminary and head up to campus. On the way home, I sometimes make Kory's day by getting him a Coke from McDonalds before I pick him up. Kind of takes the edge off. Then, we head to I.F., pick up Morgan from her after school program and head home and make dinner. I was laughing one day this week. Kory wanted to borrow a lesson plan from a teacher at Hillcrest. The teacher happened to live in Ucon, so we met at the Ucon gas station, and as I watched them exchange these little baggies of ideas, I felt like I was watching a drug deal. Kory got grabbed to be in a selfie. Phoebe saw it on Snap Chat lat

Frightmares at Lagoon

We didn't make it to Lagoon this summer, so we decided to hit Frightmares this fall. We picked a perfect day--sunny and 76, no wind. We left our house around 9:00 and took two cars down. Kory and I had the little kids and they managed not to kill each other during the ride. We got there pretty close to opening and headed straight to Cannibal and Blast Off. After that, Kory and I mainly stayed with Caleb and Morgan, since they don't love all of the big rides as much. Morgan is definitely finally tall enough to ride all of the rides, but she's still at that in-between stage where she thinks the Puff rollercoaster is still fun. After a few hours, Kory and I took off and got food at the In n Out in Centerville for everyone. We caused a little bit of a stir in the eating area, people kept stopping and asking--"Wait, is there an In n Out here?" We figure it saved us a lot of money doing it that way instead of eating park food. The few rides that we w

Our State Fair is the Best State Fair--Sing With Me Now

We've been busy with fall stuff--back to school, fairs, etc. Lovin' the corn on the cob, and Phoebe is loving eating it without braces. We always enjoy our Sunday  night visits in Sugar City. Here's some of the usual shenanigans. On Labor Day, Kory and I took Chloe and Caleb to Victor--everyone else had to work or had other plans. We took some 4-wheeler rides, ate ribs, visited, and enjoyed the beauty of Victor. Caleb felt the need for a nap. It was actually pretty chilly up in Victor that day. Friday we got Isaac checked in up on campus, took him to lunch, and then later went to the parent/student meetings. BYUI does a good job of orienting students. After the meetings were over, we waited while Isaac auditioned for Men's Choir and he was SO HAPPY that he made it. That has been his biggest hope all summer, because he loves listening to the BYU Men's Choir. We weren't too teary dropping him off since he's taking a class
