Brigham City

It felt about time for another one of our get-aways, so we headed to Brigham City after work on Friday. We got there, checked in to our hotel, and went to Maddox for dinner. We split a steak and shrimp, although Kory likes his steak bleeding, so in the end, I mostly ate the shrimp and he mostly ate the steak. We also loved the rolls and honeybutter, home-made ice cream and coconut cream pie.

The next morning, we decided to visit the Brigham City temple. Kory forgot his clothes, and then I misread how often they did sessions, so we ended up doing initiatory, which was great. I got done before Kory, so I was sitting in the waiting room for about an hour, wondering where the heck he was. Finally, I got up and looked around the corner, and he had been sitting on a chair out there for about half an hour.

We went back to the hotel and had breakfast, then drove home through beautiful Cache Valley. Always brings back such great memories of Utah State days. We drove by North Cache where I did my student teaching. So fun.

When we got home, I kept on partying, and went to Riverdance with my mom. After that dad and Kory met us at Red Robin for an early dinner. Then I shopped for awhile and Kory and I went to see The Martian, which was great. So, yes, I treated myself this weekend and did nothing but play. It was worth it!

April 2023

April 2023 On April 1 and 2 we chilled and watched General Conference. On the first, we got a new cat to replace Todd. This cat’s name is Taco, she is a girl, and she’s a tortoiseshell calico. She and Binx have taken quite a while to warm up to each other, but I think we’ll get there. She is cuddly like Todd, so we all like that.  On April 4 I watched Season 3 of The Mandalorian with my dad. On the 5 th , Kory and I took Austin and Leah to the Bee’s Knees for a birthday dinner. They have really great food there and it was fun to visit.  On April 6, we had BYUI Graduation. It was fun to be there, since I’ve missed the past year due to my cancer. On the 7 th , Kory, me, and Caleb babysat for Austin and Leah. It was fun putting the kids to bed and singing with them. Stevie loves the song “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” so we sang that a bunch. On April 8, Kory and I went on a little date. We drove up to Driggs and had dinner at O’ Rourkes and then stopped and visited with m...

Pie Face

Chloe had her tenth birthday and she asked for the game Pie Face. Yep, you've seen it. The one where everyone takes turns getting whipped cream in the face. Here are some precious moments. Chloe also got a little fort-making kit for her birthday, so we've had these structures in the family room for a few weeks now.

January/February 2023

January 2023 On January 3 we helped Caleb move back into his apartment on campus and took Phoebe to Fuji for her birthday dinner. On the 7 th , we went to Austin and Leah’s and had some delicious Olive Garden takeout and watched some of Matilda the Musical. On January 12, we went through the Rexburg temple with my niece Maddie. On January 14 th , I went to a baby shower for my niece Kami. She is the first grandchild to have a baby, so this will be my parents first great-grandchild. On the 27 th , we had a new addition to our household. That afternoon, Phoebe asked me if there was any way we could consider getting another cat. Her friend had to move and wouldn’t be able to take the cat to the new location. For some reason, I agreed, and she picked him up that afternoon. He’s an orange cat, and was originally named Scar, but our girls named him Todd after the Fox and the Hound . Binx was NOT happy at the new family member. He hissed and growled at Todd, who didn’t seem overly c...
