This was technically our last week to do fun stuff this summer, since the kids will be with their mom and then I will be gone on a trip the last week of August. So, we tried to pack in a lot of things we had hoped to do this summer.
On Tuesday we went to Mesa Falls and had a picnic. The highlight of that trip was trying to help Morgan get the courage to use the pit bathroom. She was afraid something was going to come up out of that hole. After three or four different tries, I held her hand while she went and she made it. :) One the way home we stopped at the Sugar City park and then had gelati from Kari Ann's in Rexburg.
Wednesday was the annual Kunz Lagoon Day. We took a caravan of three cars down and spent the day at Lagoon. I spent most of the day with Kory, Morgan, and Caleb, because those kids aren't quite ready to try all of the scary rides. I have never been a fan of anything that turns me upside down. But I don't mind spinning. I took the litttle kids on the Tilt A Whirl and Morgan did NOT like that. I thought she might have a cardiac arrest. My favorites were the Log Ride and Rattlesnake Rapids.
Thursday we were pretty exhausted, so all we did was get school supplies. That night Kory and I decided to tag along with Kristi and Terry to the Playmill, since we didn't manage to get up there this summer. We saw The Foreigner, which was hilarious.
Friday we spent an hour at IJump and then did dentist appointments all afternoon--no cavities. Wahoo. Saturday was busy with chores and etc. We went to dinner at Stoplight Pizza, though, which was yummy!
So, this is my first summer staying home and being a full-time mom. I told Kory one night when I found a random splash of maple syrup on the back of my leg that that symbolized my summer. It's been fun and exhausting and crazy! It will be fun getting back to work and school, but I'll look forward to next summer!
