Three Times a Bridesmaid, Never A Bride....

So, this really miraculous thing has been happening in the past year. All of the old-maid types like me have been getting married. I'm not sure why this is the magic year, but I've had four or five great friends get married. A couple of weeks ago I went down to Utah to go to the wedding of Brenda, one of my best friends.

I stayed the night with Wendy, another old roommate, then went to the Timp Temple for the sealing. Brenda was beaming and so happy. After the temple, Wendy and I took our friend, Annie, to lunch at Zupa's. I wish we had one of those in Idaho. It was kind of funny, because I was, of course, talking all about Kory while we were in line, and I looked up and there were these two people pointing at me. It was Kory's sister Jodi and her husband. What a coincidence. :)

After that I headed to Provo and went to my Aunt Linda's house. We visited for awhile and then went to dinner at Molly's, this really great little cafe near her house. After that I went to Brenda's reception, which was outdoor in this family's backyard/park. It was beautiful. I had so much fun visiting with old friends the whole time. Plus my siblings Jodi and David came. It was a great evening.

I spent the night with Jodi. Some of her kids were doing a sleepover at Aunt Linda's, so we only had two kids the next morning, which felt like a walk in the park. We took the girls to Kneader's for French toast the next morning and then I headed home. Jodi and Evan are contemplating a move back to Idaho, which would make me muy happy.

April 2023

April 2023 On April 1 and 2 we chilled and watched General Conference. On the first, we got a new cat to replace Todd. This cat’s name is Taco, she is a girl, and she’s a tortoiseshell calico. She and Binx have taken quite a while to warm up to each other, but I think we’ll get there. She is cuddly like Todd, so we all like that.  On April 4 I watched Season 3 of The Mandalorian with my dad. On the 5 th , Kory and I took Austin and Leah to the Bee’s Knees for a birthday dinner. They have really great food there and it was fun to visit.  On April 6, we had BYUI Graduation. It was fun to be there, since I’ve missed the past year due to my cancer. On the 7 th , Kory, me, and Caleb babysat for Austin and Leah. It was fun putting the kids to bed and singing with them. Stevie loves the song “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” so we sang that a bunch. On April 8, Kory and I went on a little date. We drove up to Driggs and had dinner at O’ Rourkes and then stopped and visited with m...

Pie Face

Chloe had her tenth birthday and she asked for the game Pie Face. Yep, you've seen it. The one where everyone takes turns getting whipped cream in the face. Here are some precious moments. Chloe also got a little fort-making kit for her birthday, so we've had these structures in the family room for a few weeks now.

January/February 2023

January 2023 On January 3 we helped Caleb move back into his apartment on campus and took Phoebe to Fuji for her birthday dinner. On the 7 th , we went to Austin and Leah’s and had some delicious Olive Garden takeout and watched some of Matilda the Musical. On January 12, we went through the Rexburg temple with my niece Maddie. On January 14 th , I went to a baby shower for my niece Kami. She is the first grandchild to have a baby, so this will be my parents first great-grandchild. On the 27 th , we had a new addition to our household. That afternoon, Phoebe asked me if there was any way we could consider getting another cat. Her friend had to move and wouldn’t be able to take the cat to the new location. For some reason, I agreed, and she picked him up that afternoon. He’s an orange cat, and was originally named Scar, but our girls named him Todd after the Fox and the Hound . Binx was NOT happy at the new family member. He hissed and growled at Todd, who didn’t seem overly c...
