Christmas 2016

This year the kids were with their mom in the week leading up to Christmas, so it was pretty quiet around our house with just us and Morgan. One night we let her choose whether to go to a movie or go look at the Festival of Lights. She chose the lights, so we drove through Freeman Park and saw the light display, went to the house with the music and lights, and then got a treat at Broulims. She had a fun time. She had fun running a school in our piano room, and she gave Kory and I homework, and graded our assignments. Both Kory and I got in trouble in class--me for tattling on Kory too much. :)

Luckily Morgan got to party with some other relatives (she was getting pretty bored with us), spending a night at Grandma Andrus's and then at her dad's. We joined the Gee Christmas Eve party. We enjoyed caroling with Belle and Ainsley on our laps. I'm in the red hat.

After caroling, we had dinner at the Moss's and then headed home. We watched While You Were Sleeping and then went to bed. When we woke up, we got things ready for the kids and then got ready for church. But, when we got to church, no one was there. Church had been cancelled due to the blizzard. I admit I was relieved, because I was supposed to sing in this musical number and two of the three women were sick, so I was pretty worried about how it was going to sound. We headed home and Kory spent an hour or so shoveling and helping the kids get back to our house.

Once everyone was together, we opened presents!

After presents, Kory made a delicious dinner and the older kids eventually all made it over. We were happy to have the whole family together! After dinner, people napped, played with toys, etc. Then we all joined up for a couple of hours of games. What a great Christmas!

April 2023

April 2023 On April 1 and 2 we chilled and watched General Conference. On the first, we got a new cat to replace Todd. This cat’s name is Taco, she is a girl, and she’s a tortoiseshell calico. She and Binx have taken quite a while to warm up to each other, but I think we’ll get there. She is cuddly like Todd, so we all like that.  On April 4 I watched Season 3 of The Mandalorian with my dad. On the 5 th , Kory and I took Austin and Leah to the Bee’s Knees for a birthday dinner. They have really great food there and it was fun to visit.  On April 6, we had BYUI Graduation. It was fun to be there, since I’ve missed the past year due to my cancer. On the 7 th , Kory, me, and Caleb babysat for Austin and Leah. It was fun putting the kids to bed and singing with them. Stevie loves the song “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” so we sang that a bunch. On April 8, Kory and I went on a little date. We drove up to Driggs and had dinner at O’ Rourkes and then stopped and visited with m...

Pie Face

Chloe had her tenth birthday and she asked for the game Pie Face. Yep, you've seen it. The one where everyone takes turns getting whipped cream in the face. Here are some precious moments. Chloe also got a little fort-making kit for her birthday, so we've had these structures in the family room for a few weeks now.

January/February 2023

January 2023 On January 3 we helped Caleb move back into his apartment on campus and took Phoebe to Fuji for her birthday dinner. On the 7 th , we went to Austin and Leah’s and had some delicious Olive Garden takeout and watched some of Matilda the Musical. On January 12, we went through the Rexburg temple with my niece Maddie. On January 14 th , I went to a baby shower for my niece Kami. She is the first grandchild to have a baby, so this will be my parents first great-grandchild. On the 27 th , we had a new addition to our household. That afternoon, Phoebe asked me if there was any way we could consider getting another cat. Her friend had to move and wouldn’t be able to take the cat to the new location. For some reason, I agreed, and she picked him up that afternoon. He’s an orange cat, and was originally named Scar, but our girls named him Todd after the Fox and the Hound . Binx was NOT happy at the new family member. He hissed and growled at Todd, who didn’t seem overly c...
