Fourth of July and Pokemon Go

We covered a lot of ground on the fourth! We started out in Rexburg, watching the parade with some of my family. We got there just as the Anderson's crossed the finish line for the Main Street mile. Kristi said she was surprised how fast Eli took off. When she caught up to him, he was crying, because he thought his family had left him behind--when in fact they were behind him.

We left the parade a little early and met some friends of Kory's at the golf course for a quick 9 holes.

After golf, we headed to Driggs for a great dinner with the Kunz's. Then we visited and rode some 4-wheelers. We headed back home, watched a movie, and watched some of the Melaleuca fireworks out our bedroom window--yes we are old and lazy. The kids spent the day with their mom, so they arrived after the fireworks and we all caught up.

One new thing that happened this week. Our children got a little extra exercise as they wandered the neighborhood looking for Pokemon. Yes, they have downloaded the Pokemon Go app and are wandering the streets trying to catch Pokemon. Apparently a girl in Jackson tried it and found a dead body.  No dead bodies in our area yet.

April 2023

April 2023 On April 1 and 2 we chilled and watched General Conference. On the first, we got a new cat to replace Todd. This cat’s name is Taco, she is a girl, and she’s a tortoiseshell calico. She and Binx have taken quite a while to warm up to each other, but I think we’ll get there. She is cuddly like Todd, so we all like that.  On April 4 I watched Season 3 of The Mandalorian with my dad. On the 5 th , Kory and I took Austin and Leah to the Bee’s Knees for a birthday dinner. They have really great food there and it was fun to visit.  On April 6, we had BYUI Graduation. It was fun to be there, since I’ve missed the past year due to my cancer. On the 7 th , Kory, me, and Caleb babysat for Austin and Leah. It was fun putting the kids to bed and singing with them. Stevie loves the song “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” so we sang that a bunch. On April 8, Kory and I went on a little date. We drove up to Driggs and had dinner at O’ Rourkes and then stopped and visited with m...

Pie Face

Chloe had her tenth birthday and she asked for the game Pie Face. Yep, you've seen it. The one where everyone takes turns getting whipped cream in the face. Here are some precious moments. Chloe also got a little fort-making kit for her birthday, so we've had these structures in the family room for a few weeks now.

January/February 2023

January 2023 On January 3 we helped Caleb move back into his apartment on campus and took Phoebe to Fuji for her birthday dinner. On the 7 th , we went to Austin and Leah’s and had some delicious Olive Garden takeout and watched some of Matilda the Musical. On January 12, we went through the Rexburg temple with my niece Maddie. On January 14 th , I went to a baby shower for my niece Kami. She is the first grandchild to have a baby, so this will be my parents first great-grandchild. On the 27 th , we had a new addition to our household. That afternoon, Phoebe asked me if there was any way we could consider getting another cat. Her friend had to move and wouldn’t be able to take the cat to the new location. For some reason, I agreed, and she picked him up that afternoon. He’s an orange cat, and was originally named Scar, but our girls named him Todd after the Fox and the Hound . Binx was NOT happy at the new family member. He hissed and growled at Todd, who didn’t seem overly c...
