Graduation and First Day of Summer Vacation


We now have an official graduate of Idaho Falls High School. Isaac's graduation ceremony was Wednesday night. He also found out that he has been named the All Area Athlete of the Year for Track, so he will be featured in the Post Register next week. At the all-night Senior party he got hypnotized and was apparently very entertaining. :) 









Friday, the kids were ready to party, with school being out. Phoebe had a bunch of friends over for a water fight/paint party. The little kids joined in where they could.









Saturday morning we had Seminary graduation.  Isaac was one of the speakers and did a great job. We were actually a little surprised because he tends to be more on the quiet side, but he is a good public speaker.




 After graduation, we gathered everyone up and went to Rexburg Rapids for the afternoon. The weather was perfect--hot but not killer hot. We all had fun on the slides and in the lazy river.






So, summer is off to a good start. We're hoping to make it a good one.

  April 2023 On April 1 and 2 we chilled and watched General Conference. On the first, we got a new cat to replace Todd. This cat’s name is Taco, she is a girl, and she’s a tortoiseshell calico. She and Binx have taken quite a while to warm up to each other, but I think we’ll get there. She is cuddly like Todd, so we all like that.  On April 4 I watched Season 3 of The Mandalorian with my dad. On the 5 th , Kory and I took Austin and Leah to the Bee’s Knees for a birthday dinner. They have really great food there and it was fun to visit.  On April 6, we had BYUI Graduation. It was fun to be there, since I’ve missed the past year due to my cancer. On the 7 th , Kory, me, and Caleb babysat for Austin and Leah. It was fun putting the kids to bed and singing with them. Stevie loves the song “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” so we sang that a bunch. Pie Face

Chloe had her tenth birthday and she asked for the game Pie Face. Yep, you've seen it. The one where everyone takes turns getting whipped cream in the face. Here are some precious moments. Chloe also got a little fort-making kit for her birthday, so we've had these structures in the family room for a few weeks now.

January/February 2023

  January 2023 On January 3 we helped Caleb move back into his apartment on campus and took Phoebe to Fuji for her birthday dinner. On the 7 th , we went to Austin and Leah’s and had some delicious Olive Garden takeout and watched some of Matilda the Musical. On January 12, we went through the Rexburg temple with my niece Maddie. On January 14 th , I went to a baby shower for my niece Kami. She is the first grandchild to have a baby, so this will be my parents first great-grandchild. On the 27 th , we had a new addition to our household. That afternoon, Phoebe asked me if there was any way we could consider getting another cat. Her friend had to move and wouldn’t be able to take the cat to the new location. For some reason, I agreed, and she picked him up that afternoon. He’s an orange cat, and was originally named Scar, but our girls named him Todd after the Fox and the Hound . Binx was NOT happy at the new family member.
