Update with No Pictures

Well, I want to report on the last couple of weeks, but I didn't bother to take any pictures, so it will be a little boring. Our anniversary was February 15, but we had the kids all weekend, and Kory was at the golf thing with his brothers, so we celebrated the following weekend.

On February 17 I went to BYUI's production of Antigone. Occasionally I teach a Drama class, where we study plays and this happens to be one of those semesters. I had the class read the version of Antigone that BYUI is producing and had Richard Clifford, the director, come and talk to the class for a Q&A. In addition, three of my students are in the production. So, it was really fun to go see it. They set it in a futuristic, dystopian Greece, and it made it really interesting. Really enjoyed it.

On February 18, my friends Wendy and Bob stopped by Rexburg on their way to spend a few days in West Yellowstone, so we met for lunch at Applebee's and chatted. Always great to see them.

On February 19, Kory and I met up after work and drove to Twin Falls. After checking into the hotel, we found a local restaurant and ate some good food. By the time we got back to the hotel, it was pretty much time for bed, so we watched a little TV and called it a day.

On February 20, we got up early and checked out and headed to the Twin Falls temple. The session was nice and it was fun to see their temple. Pretty similar to Rexburg. We got home and did a few errands and then went to see Race, a movie about Jesse Owens. Really enjoyed it. After that,  we went to Texas Roadhouse and happened to bump into Josh and Kasey, so we ate with them and then headed home. So, that was a nice anniversary weekend.

This week has just been busy with the usual stuff. Things always get busier the closer you get to the end of the semester. I'll hang in there.

April 2023

April 2023 On April 1 and 2 we chilled and watched General Conference. On the first, we got a new cat to replace Todd. This cat’s name is Taco, she is a girl, and she’s a tortoiseshell calico. She and Binx have taken quite a while to warm up to each other, but I think we’ll get there. She is cuddly like Todd, so we all like that.  On April 4 I watched Season 3 of The Mandalorian with my dad. On the 5 th , Kory and I took Austin and Leah to the Bee’s Knees for a birthday dinner. They have really great food there and it was fun to visit.  On April 6, we had BYUI Graduation. It was fun to be there, since I’ve missed the past year due to my cancer. On the 7 th , Kory, me, and Caleb babysat for Austin and Leah. It was fun putting the kids to bed and singing with them. Stevie loves the song “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” so we sang that a bunch. On April 8, Kory and I went on a little date. We drove up to Driggs and had dinner at O’ Rourkes and then stopped and visited with m...

Pie Face

Chloe had her tenth birthday and she asked for the game Pie Face. Yep, you've seen it. The one where everyone takes turns getting whipped cream in the face. Here are some precious moments. Chloe also got a little fort-making kit for her birthday, so we've had these structures in the family room for a few weeks now.

January/February 2023

January 2023 On January 3 we helped Caleb move back into his apartment on campus and took Phoebe to Fuji for her birthday dinner. On the 7 th , we went to Austin and Leah’s and had some delicious Olive Garden takeout and watched some of Matilda the Musical. On January 12, we went through the Rexburg temple with my niece Maddie. On January 14 th , I went to a baby shower for my niece Kami. She is the first grandchild to have a baby, so this will be my parents first great-grandchild. On the 27 th , we had a new addition to our household. That afternoon, Phoebe asked me if there was any way we could consider getting another cat. Her friend had to move and wouldn’t be able to take the cat to the new location. For some reason, I agreed, and she picked him up that afternoon. He’s an orange cat, and was originally named Scar, but our girls named him Todd after the Fox and the Hound . Binx was NOT happy at the new family member. He hissed and growled at Todd, who didn’t seem overly c...
