Kory's Brush with Greatness

So, Kory had a funny week. We were watching the Super Bowl at his brother Josh's house and this commercial came on which features Kory. Unfortunately, it's about nighttime urination, complete with sound effects. It's not Kory in that part of the commercial, but as soon as they say "Having trouble with night time urination" it shows Kory nodding his head and talking to a doctor. We about died laughing. He may never live this down. He also got to spend some good time with his grandson Ryker.

PS. So, the way he ended up in the commercial in the first place is that this lady in our ward runs a talent agency, and they asked her to find an older guy for this commercial, so she took Kory's picture off of Facebook and they happened to choose him, so she calls Kory and says,"I booked you an acting gig." And Kory's all, "Huh?"

It was pretty random, but he figured he better do it, just for fun. So there you have it. Probably the beginning and end of his television career.

  1. I thought it was great! There are far far worse medical conditions he could be advertising!!!

  2. Shawn thought one of his friends had roped him into that one and he said, "he needs to find new friends!!"

April 2023

April 2023 On April 1 and 2 we chilled and watched General Conference. On the first, we got a new cat to replace Todd. This cat’s name is Taco, she is a girl, and she’s a tortoiseshell calico. She and Binx have taken quite a while to warm up to each other, but I think we’ll get there. She is cuddly like Todd, so we all like that.  On April 4 I watched Season 3 of The Mandalorian with my dad. On the 5 th , Kory and I took Austin and Leah to the Bee’s Knees for a birthday dinner. They have really great food there and it was fun to visit.  On April 6, we had BYUI Graduation. It was fun to be there, since I’ve missed the past year due to my cancer. On the 7 th , Kory, me, and Caleb babysat for Austin and Leah. It was fun putting the kids to bed and singing with them. Stevie loves the song “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” so we sang that a bunch. On April 8, Kory and I went on a little date. We drove up to Driggs and had dinner at O’ Rourkes and then stopped and visited with m...

Pie Face

Chloe had her tenth birthday and she asked for the game Pie Face. Yep, you've seen it. The one where everyone takes turns getting whipped cream in the face. Here are some precious moments. Chloe also got a little fort-making kit for her birthday, so we've had these structures in the family room for a few weeks now.

January/February 2023

January 2023 On January 3 we helped Caleb move back into his apartment on campus and took Phoebe to Fuji for her birthday dinner. On the 7 th , we went to Austin and Leah’s and had some delicious Olive Garden takeout and watched some of Matilda the Musical. On January 12, we went through the Rexburg temple with my niece Maddie. On January 14 th , I went to a baby shower for my niece Kami. She is the first grandchild to have a baby, so this will be my parents first great-grandchild. On the 27 th , we had a new addition to our household. That afternoon, Phoebe asked me if there was any way we could consider getting another cat. Her friend had to move and wouldn’t be able to take the cat to the new location. For some reason, I agreed, and she picked him up that afternoon. He’s an orange cat, and was originally named Scar, but our girls named him Todd after the Fox and the Hound . Binx was NOT happy at the new family member. He hissed and growled at Todd, who didn’t seem overly c...
