Chuck-a-Grandpa

Well, Kory's dad is back in the area. He usually spends his winters in St. George, so we're always happy when he comes back this way. He took us all out to Chukorama one night.

Saturday we juggled lots of things. The kids went to a baptism on their mom's side, Kory sang at a funeral, I cleaned and watched Ryker. Everyone got home and Kory mowed the lawn, Phoebe got ready for her Prom date. Last week she went to Hillcrest's prom and this week she went to Skyline's. They paint-balled for their day date. Luckily one of the moms had a nice camera and got some great group photos.

After we got Phoebe out the door, Kory and I loaded Chloe and Caleb up and took them to Cress Creek to hike. Chloe fell asleep on the way. We stopped at Heise to get some pizza and it was super crowded, but we still managed to get up on the trail to watch a pretty sunset.

I was surprised to get a text from my brother Nathan with some pics of Isaac out on his mission in Michigan. I guess Dawn's brother lives in one of the wards in Isaac's area and the missionaries were singing at the baptism there. Funny, small world!

April 2023

April 2023 On April 1 and 2 we chilled and watched General Conference. On the first, we got a new cat to replace Todd. This cat’s name is Taco, she is a girl, and she’s a tortoiseshell calico. She and Binx have taken quite a while to warm up to each other, but I think we’ll get there. She is cuddly like Todd, so we all like that.  On April 4 I watched Season 3 of The Mandalorian with my dad. On the 5 th , Kory and I took Austin and Leah to the Bee’s Knees for a birthday dinner. They have really great food there and it was fun to visit.  On April 6, we had BYUI Graduation. It was fun to be there, since I’ve missed the past year due to my cancer. On the 7 th , Kory, me, and Caleb babysat for Austin and Leah. It was fun putting the kids to bed and singing with them. Stevie loves the song “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” so we sang that a bunch. On April 8, Kory and I went on a little date. We drove up to Driggs and had dinner at O’ Rourkes and then stopped and visited with m...

Pie Face

Chloe had her tenth birthday and she asked for the game Pie Face. Yep, you've seen it. The one where everyone takes turns getting whipped cream in the face. Here are some precious moments. Chloe also got a little fort-making kit for her birthday, so we've had these structures in the family room for a few weeks now.

January/February 2023

January 2023 On January 3 we helped Caleb move back into his apartment on campus and took Phoebe to Fuji for her birthday dinner. On the 7 th , we went to Austin and Leah’s and had some delicious Olive Garden takeout and watched some of Matilda the Musical. On January 12, we went through the Rexburg temple with my niece Maddie. On January 14 th , I went to a baby shower for my niece Kami. She is the first grandchild to have a baby, so this will be my parents first great-grandchild. On the 27 th , we had a new addition to our household. That afternoon, Phoebe asked me if there was any way we could consider getting another cat. Her friend had to move and wouldn’t be able to take the cat to the new location. For some reason, I agreed, and she picked him up that afternoon. He’s an orange cat, and was originally named Scar, but our girls named him Todd after the Fox and the Hound . Binx was NOT happy at the new family member. He hissed and growled at Todd, who didn’t seem overly c...
