State Fairs, Baseball, and Bike Rides

Kory and I decided to pack it in on the last weekend of summer. We went to the Eastern Idaho State Fair in Blackfoot on Saturday morning. We always look at a few exhibits and then the real purpose is the food. So.....raisin cookies, pronto pup, homemade bread and honeybutter, Mexican corn, and ice cream.

That night we went to the Chukar's game. Saw some good plays. Had some hotdogs and funnel cake.

On Labor Day we loaded up our bikes and headed to Teton Valley. We hopped on the old rail trail from Tetonia to Ashton. We started in Tetonia. The first couple of miles were pretty rocky and I was a little worried about my bike tires.
Then things leveled out and got more sandy and packed gravelish. We crossed some streams and saw the beginnings of fall color.

Near Bitch Creek we crossed a big trestle.

We ended at Lamont, about 15 miles out of Tetonia. Kory's dad came and picked us up and we all went to lunch at O'Roarke's. Beautiful trail. Nice workout. We want to do the other half in a couple of weeks.

April 2023

April 2023 On April 1 and 2 we chilled and watched General Conference. On the first, we got a new cat to replace Todd. This cat’s name is Taco, she is a girl, and she’s a tortoiseshell calico. She and Binx have taken quite a while to warm up to each other, but I think we’ll get there. She is cuddly like Todd, so we all like that.  On April 4 I watched Season 3 of The Mandalorian with my dad. On the 5 th , Kory and I took Austin and Leah to the Bee’s Knees for a birthday dinner. They have really great food there and it was fun to visit.  On April 6, we had BYUI Graduation. It was fun to be there, since I’ve missed the past year due to my cancer. On the 7 th , Kory, me, and Caleb babysat for Austin and Leah. It was fun putting the kids to bed and singing with them. Stevie loves the song “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” so we sang that a bunch. On April 8, Kory and I went on a little date. We drove up to Driggs and had dinner at O’ Rourkes and then stopped and visited with m...

Pie Face

Chloe had her tenth birthday and she asked for the game Pie Face. Yep, you've seen it. The one where everyone takes turns getting whipped cream in the face. Here are some precious moments. Chloe also got a little fort-making kit for her birthday, so we've had these structures in the family room for a few weeks now.

January/February 2023

January 2023 On January 3 we helped Caleb move back into his apartment on campus and took Phoebe to Fuji for her birthday dinner. On the 7 th , we went to Austin and Leah’s and had some delicious Olive Garden takeout and watched some of Matilda the Musical. On January 12, we went through the Rexburg temple with my niece Maddie. On January 14 th , I went to a baby shower for my niece Kami. She is the first grandchild to have a baby, so this will be my parents first great-grandchild. On the 27 th , we had a new addition to our household. That afternoon, Phoebe asked me if there was any way we could consider getting another cat. Her friend had to move and wouldn’t be able to take the cat to the new location. For some reason, I agreed, and she picked him up that afternoon. He’s an orange cat, and was originally named Scar, but our girls named him Todd after the Fox and the Hound . Binx was NOT happy at the new family member. He hissed and growled at Todd, who didn’t seem overly c...
