Memorial Day Weekend

Kory and I had a little bit of time to ourselves this weekend, so we tried to milk it as much as possible. We went to the Fisherman's Breakfast in St. Anthony. I remember going every year when I was little, and it has been years since I've been and Kory has never been. We didn't have too long of a wait and the food was great.

After that, I tagged along while Kory and BJ golfed. I was driving around in a cart. We got hit by a short hail storm and rainstorm, but I dried out by the end of the 9th hole.

That night we went to see my niece, Kami, graduate from Madison High School. Her choir sang the prelude, so it was fun to hear both she and Caden sing there. It was a great program and moved along quickly, which is always good. Afterward, we went to Shawn and Amy's and visited.

Kami is the first of the Gee grandkids to graduate. She is an incredible young woman in every way!

These are some snapshots from their choir concert a week or so ago.

Kory and I went to the temple on Saturday and then stopped by the Sugar City cemetery to see my grandparents' graves. We also visited his Whiting grandparents on Sunday in the Ammon cemetery.

We were joking around a little bit about Uarda Whiting's name.

"Uarda name me something different!"

"Uarda name her..."
"Oooh, I like that!"

April 2023

April 2023 On April 1 and 2 we chilled and watched General Conference. On the first, we got a new cat to replace Todd. This cat’s name is Taco, she is a girl, and she’s a tortoiseshell calico. She and Binx have taken quite a while to warm up to each other, but I think we’ll get there. She is cuddly like Todd, so we all like that.  On April 4 I watched Season 3 of The Mandalorian with my dad. On the 5 th , Kory and I took Austin and Leah to the Bee’s Knees for a birthday dinner. They have really great food there and it was fun to visit.  On April 6, we had BYUI Graduation. It was fun to be there, since I’ve missed the past year due to my cancer. On the 7 th , Kory, me, and Caleb babysat for Austin and Leah. It was fun putting the kids to bed and singing with them. Stevie loves the song “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” so we sang that a bunch. On April 8, Kory and I went on a little date. We drove up to Driggs and had dinner at O’ Rourkes and then stopped and visited with m...

Pie Face

Chloe had her tenth birthday and she asked for the game Pie Face. Yep, you've seen it. The one where everyone takes turns getting whipped cream in the face. Here are some precious moments. Chloe also got a little fort-making kit for her birthday, so we've had these structures in the family room for a few weeks now.

January/February 2023

January 2023 On January 3 we helped Caleb move back into his apartment on campus and took Phoebe to Fuji for her birthday dinner. On the 7 th , we went to Austin and Leah’s and had some delicious Olive Garden takeout and watched some of Matilda the Musical. On January 12, we went through the Rexburg temple with my niece Maddie. On January 14 th , I went to a baby shower for my niece Kami. She is the first grandchild to have a baby, so this will be my parents first great-grandchild. On the 27 th , we had a new addition to our household. That afternoon, Phoebe asked me if there was any way we could consider getting another cat. Her friend had to move and wouldn’t be able to take the cat to the new location. For some reason, I agreed, and she picked him up that afternoon. He’s an orange cat, and was originally named Scar, but our girls named him Todd after the Fox and the Hound . Binx was NOT happy at the new family member. He hissed and growled at Todd, who didn’t seem overly c...
