January 2020

Kory and I spent a snowy New Year’s Day inside doing a puzzle and having a Lord of the Ring’s Marathon. On the 2nd, Isaac and Carlie returned from California and got back just in time to meet us at Fuji’s to celebrate Phoebe’s 19th birthday. That night, Austin and Kory stayed up until 1:00 a.m. listening to music and finishing the puzzle. The next day we drove Carlie to Rexburg and helped her get into her new apartment because Isaac had to go to work at Texas Roadhouse. Another day, we met Joelle at the house she is remodeling and spent a couple of hours washing down the walls so she can repaint.

On the 6th, Chloe got her braces on. She was happy that the process wasn’t too painful, but her mouth was sore for a couple of days. Morgan was excited to start going to Young Women’s activities and Sunday meetings. The flu knocked Chloe out for a few days. Kory and I started up our BYUI classes again. Caleb has been having musical practice for Beauty and the Beast.
On the 20th, we did our annual measuring for FHE and made goals and predictions for the year. Caleb, Morgan, and Chloe are all still growing a couple of inches each year. On the 24th Kory, Phoebe, and I went to watch the Skyline Girls’ Basketball games against Idaho Falls. On the 25th, we took Phoebe, Chloe, and Caleb to the Edge Climbing Gym and it was fun to watch them trying the different climbing walls.

April 2023

April 2023 On April 1 and 2 we chilled and watched General Conference. On the first, we got a new cat to replace Todd. This cat’s name is Taco, she is a girl, and she’s a tortoiseshell calico. She and Binx have taken quite a while to warm up to each other, but I think we’ll get there. She is cuddly like Todd, so we all like that.  On April 4 I watched Season 3 of The Mandalorian with my dad. On the 5 th , Kory and I took Austin and Leah to the Bee’s Knees for a birthday dinner. They have really great food there and it was fun to visit.  On April 6, we had BYUI Graduation. It was fun to be there, since I’ve missed the past year due to my cancer. On the 7 th , Kory, me, and Caleb babysat for Austin and Leah. It was fun putting the kids to bed and singing with them. Stevie loves the song “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” so we sang that a bunch. On April 8, Kory and I went on a little date. We drove up to Driggs and had dinner at O’ Rourkes and then stopped and visited with m...

Pie Face

Chloe had her tenth birthday and she asked for the game Pie Face. Yep, you've seen it. The one where everyone takes turns getting whipped cream in the face. Here are some precious moments. Chloe also got a little fort-making kit for her birthday, so we've had these structures in the family room for a few weeks now.

January/February 2023

January 2023 On January 3 we helped Caleb move back into his apartment on campus and took Phoebe to Fuji for her birthday dinner. On the 7 th , we went to Austin and Leah’s and had some delicious Olive Garden takeout and watched some of Matilda the Musical. On January 12, we went through the Rexburg temple with my niece Maddie. On January 14 th , I went to a baby shower for my niece Kami. She is the first grandchild to have a baby, so this will be my parents first great-grandchild. On the 27 th , we had a new addition to our household. That afternoon, Phoebe asked me if there was any way we could consider getting another cat. Her friend had to move and wouldn’t be able to take the cat to the new location. For some reason, I agreed, and she picked him up that afternoon. He’s an orange cat, and was originally named Scar, but our girls named him Todd after the Fox and the Hound . Binx was NOT happy at the new family member. He hissed and growled at Todd, who didn’t seem overly c...
