Christmas Celebration

The kids had two full weeks off from school, which gave them a lot of free time. They hopped back and forth between our house and their mom's to try to hit all of the Christmas traditions. Here they are one morning shoveling the driveway.

One night we took everyone who could go to The Last Jedi, which we all enjoyed.

Kory has trained Chloe and Morgan to be The Price is Right fans, so they like to hang out and watch it together. Kory's sister, Lori, made it onto the show and it will air on March 26. I told her that was Kory's dream. ;)

We had Ryker some of the time and Caleb is definitely the best babysitter. He plays with him for hours.

Chloe: is she naughty or is she nice? Depends on the day. He he.

On Christmas Eve day, we went to church. Kory and I sang in the choir and Kory spoke in sacrament meeting. It was a nice service. After church, we invited all of the kids over for Sunday dinner. Austin and Leah and Lakyn and Morgan joined us.

Next, we headed to Sugar City to join the Gee's for some Christmas caroling. Afterward, we went to Uncle Jerald's for soup and treats.

We then headed back to our house where the rest of the kids joined us. Kory read the Nativity while the kids acted it out. It was total pandemonium! I was laughing hysterically. Let's just say Ryker adds a whole new element to the proceedings. Then, I shared a couple of movies I had made of the year's highlights, then we sang some Christmas carols. We ended the evening watching It's A Wonderful Life in the basement and then the kids all slept in the basement watching movies, playing video games and getting a little bit of sleep.

We were up unwrapping gifts by 7:30 a.m. and it took just a short while to create a massive mess. It was fun to watch the older kids in parent mode, since they all had toys they were trying to put together. It was pretty funny. Austin and Leah made waffles and bacon for everyone.

We bought everyone Swig mugs and then got some Torani syrup so people could make their drinks. Phoebe was the first to give it a try.

Around 9:30, Elder Kunz called and we were soooo excited to see him. His mom and Grandpa Kunz joined us for the video chat. It's fun to see how he is growing and maturing and his love for the gospel.

After that, the kids headed over to their mom's house. Kory and I went to Sugar City to have a delicious Christmas dinner at my mom and dad's house. We ate and hung out with the Anderson's. On our way home, we stopped in to visit Josh and Kasey, Kory's brother and his wife, and then we headed home. Kory and I ended the night watching Miss Congeniality because I discovered that he had never watched it and decided he needed to have the experience.

A great Christmas 2017!

Pie Face

Chloe had her tenth birthday and she asked for the game Pie Face. Yep, you've seen it. The one where everyone takes turns getting whipped cream in the face. Here are some precious moments. Chloe also got a little fort-making kit for her birthday, so we've had these structures in the family room for a few weeks now.

April 2023

April 2023 On April 1 and 2 we chilled and watched General Conference. On the first, we got a new cat to replace Todd. This cat’s name is Taco, she is a girl, and she’s a tortoiseshell calico. She and Binx have taken quite a while to warm up to each other, but I think we’ll get there. She is cuddly like Todd, so we all like that.  On April 4 I watched Season 3 of The Mandalorian with my dad. On the 5 th , Kory and I took Austin and Leah to the Bee’s Knees for a birthday dinner. They have really great food there and it was fun to visit.  On April 6, we had BYUI Graduation. It was fun to be there, since I’ve missed the past year due to my cancer. On the 7 th , Kory, me, and Caleb babysat for Austin and Leah. It was fun putting the kids to bed and singing with them. Stevie loves the song “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” so we sang that a bunch. On April 8, Kory and I went on a little date. We drove up to Driggs and had dinner at O’ Rourkes and then stopped and visited with my parents on t

Kory's Story

I just wanted to record this for our family history. When Kory and I were engaged, we went to Salt Lake to talk with someone at CES to see about re-applying to teach seminary. At the time, they indicated that he could re-apply, but they didn't seem positive about the likelihood of him getting re-hired. At that time, we decided not to pursue teaching again. Later that year, CES announced that there was no longer any block on people who had been divorced teaching seminary. Again, we talked with some people, but still felt that the chances of him getting hired were not good, because he would not be able to move if necessary, which is usually the case with new hires.  In Fall of 2015, Kory had a strong impression to check with the pre-service director and see what he would need to do to try teaching again. We still knew that the chances were not great, but he felt that he should pursue it. He began attending the class for pre-service seminary teachers, and was assigned to student te
