Christmas 2014

We didn't have the kids until Christmas Day, so we spent the days before finishing up shopping and other little odds and ends. One night we found The Sound of Music Sing-A-Long on TV and had fun with that for awhile.

On Christmas Eve we joined the Gees for caroling as usual. We thought it would be a "small" year so we tried to fit everyone on one wagon. I think there were at least 50 or 60 people, so it wasn't really that small. I thought we were going to break something on the truck or wagon.

After that, Kory and I joined Josh and Kasey for an amazing homemade dinner of prime rib and shrimp. We stuffed ourselves and had fun doing puzzles with the kids and then doing the Nativity.

Kory looked at these pictures and said, "Oh my goodness, Josh and I have the same head!"

After that we headed home and delivered some presents to a neighbor who we found out was not going to have any toys for her kids in the morning. They ended up having Christmas dinner with us, which was great.

On Christmas Day the kids came to our house around noon. We opened presents and then Kory made his usual awesome Sunday dinner of pork roast, potatoes, and veggies. We all stuffed ourselves. It was fun to have everyone there (Austin and Leah couldn't make it.)  We just enjoyed the rest of the day hanging out and playing with new toys and etc.

Santa's Handiwork

A storm blew in Christmas Eve and continued through Christmas Day.

Phoebe's Giant Monkey

Kids had to line up youngest to oldest.

Caleb can't wait to start karate.

Everyone liked playing with Chloe's giant polar bear.

Playing with the new white board.

Chloe wanted to talk about the true meaning of Christmas.

April 2023

April 2023 On April 1 and 2 we chilled and watched General Conference. On the first, we got a new cat to replace Todd. This cat’s name is Taco, she is a girl, and she’s a tortoiseshell calico. She and Binx have taken quite a while to warm up to each other, but I think we’ll get there. She is cuddly like Todd, so we all like that.  On April 4 I watched Season 3 of The Mandalorian with my dad. On the 5 th , Kory and I took Austin and Leah to the Bee’s Knees for a birthday dinner. They have really great food there and it was fun to visit.  On April 6, we had BYUI Graduation. It was fun to be there, since I’ve missed the past year due to my cancer. On the 7 th , Kory, me, and Caleb babysat for Austin and Leah. It was fun putting the kids to bed and singing with them. Stevie loves the song “Goodbye Yellow Brick Road,” so we sang that a bunch. On April 8, Kory and I went on a little date. We drove up to Driggs and had dinner at O’ Rourkes and then stopped and visited with m...

Pie Face

Chloe had her tenth birthday and she asked for the game Pie Face. Yep, you've seen it. The one where everyone takes turns getting whipped cream in the face. Here are some precious moments. Chloe also got a little fort-making kit for her birthday, so we've had these structures in the family room for a few weeks now.

January/February 2023

January 2023 On January 3 we helped Caleb move back into his apartment on campus and took Phoebe to Fuji for her birthday dinner. On the 7 th , we went to Austin and Leah’s and had some delicious Olive Garden takeout and watched some of Matilda the Musical. On January 12, we went through the Rexburg temple with my niece Maddie. On January 14 th , I went to a baby shower for my niece Kami. She is the first grandchild to have a baby, so this will be my parents first great-grandchild. On the 27 th , we had a new addition to our household. That afternoon, Phoebe asked me if there was any way we could consider getting another cat. Her friend had to move and wouldn’t be able to take the cat to the new location. For some reason, I agreed, and she picked him up that afternoon. He’s an orange cat, and was originally named Scar, but our girls named him Todd after the Fox and the Hound . Binx was NOT happy at the new family member. He hissed and growled at Todd, who didn’t seem overly c...
