Christmas Greetings

Another great Christmas has come and gone. I didn't take many pictures--too caught up in the whirl of things, I guess. But I'll share what I do have! After wrapping up finals at work, we dove into all of the Christmas preparations. We had a fun Gee Family party on the 22nd, with food and white elephant gifts. On Christmas Eve, we had all of our kids here. We had a big "Sunday dinner" that Kory always prepares. Then we took some Christmas gifts to a family in our ward, came back and did The Nativity. After that, we all shared Christmas memories. Then, Austin shared a slideshow he had created from all of the kids baby pictures. Everyone loved it and was crying a bit. After that, all of the kids spread out in the basement and spent the night playing games, watching movies, and waiting for Santa. On Christmas morning, we gathered in our room for family prayer.  Then we gathered on the stairs to head down and see what Santa brought.  Everyone was excited about th...

Thanksgiving in Sunny St. George

We loaded up a couple of cars and headed down South to spend Thanksgiving with Kory's family. We went half of the way Tuesday night and stayed with Halli. The kids were enchanted by their Hovers and stayed up pretty late playing on them. Wednesday morning we headed the rest of the way and settled in. We spent the next couple of days swimming in Grandma and Grandpa's pool at the condo, making trips to Swig (owned by Aunt Nicole), golfing, playing volleyball and b-ball in the high school gym (Uncle Mike is a principal), watching football and playing cards. One day we took the kids to the St. George Children's Museum, which was a blast. Later I went with the sisters to get a pedicure.

Christmas Decor

Since we were going to be out of town for Thanksgiving, we put up our Christmas stuff for FHE. And after that, we had to have a family trial. Apparently there was an "incident" which left Chloe with a bloody nose at the hands of Caleb. So, to make sure that justice was done, the older kids all got involved. Phoebe was the jury, Isaac was Chloe's lawyer, Lakyn was Caleb's lawyer, Madi was the judge, and Morgan was the stenographer. They found in favor of Chloe, but everyone ended happily. Just a typical night at the Kunz home.

Revenge of the Dummy

Caleb's latest obsession has been Goosebumps, so we took he and Chloe to the movie this last weekend. Kory took a moment to get his picture with his Daniel Craig double :). After the movie, Caleb was obsessed with making his own dummy. He's been begging us to buy him one (hundreds of dollars), so we were happy that he figured out how to make his own for free. He named his dummy Chris. We spent Saturday getting stuff put away for the winter, cleaning the garage, the house, and the storage room. It was exhausting, but we got a lot done. On Sunday, we took a stroll because the weather was unusually nice. Chloe got it into her head that she wanted to climb up on the roof with Kory, like they used to do when he put up Christmas lights, so they made a little jaunt to the roof.

Birthday Girl

Morgan had her seventh birthday, so we celebrated with some cake and ice cream.

Halloween and Cross Country

So, we carved our pumpkins from the pumpkin patch for FHE. We turned on some Nightmare Before Christmas to carve to. Later that week, Kory and I drove to Couer d'alene to watch state cross country. The drive up through Montana was pretty and we had a good time on the road trip. We got there Friday afternoon and did some exploring down by the lake and ate at a good Italian place. Isaac ran around noon on Saturday, so we drove to Farragut State Park, where it was being held. It was a rainy, cold day. There was some trouble with the timing chips, so we had to wait a couple of hours for Isaac's race. When it began, we were worried about the position of IF's team, because they were the furthest team to the right and the course funneled off to the left, so Isaac got boxed in kind of early. At the first turn, he was way back in the pack. When we saw him again, he was still pretty far back and we worried that he might not be able to place. Kory headed ...
