Rain, Rain Go Away

Well, it seemed like it rained constantly this week and I was going stir crazy by the end of it. However, when I look back, we did some fun things. On Tuesday night, we tried to go to a Chukar's game, but got rained out on the second inning. I also took the kids to get school supplies that day and laughed when Chloe arranged her items on the conveyor belt very precisely....just like her dad with groceries. I laughed and took a picture to text to him.  On Wednesday we packed up and went to Rigby Lake and played for three or four hours. It was actually a great day. A little cooler than usual, but still comfortable. Kristi brought her kids and we chatted while the kids played. On Thursday and Friday I tried to take the kids to the park to break them away from video games and TV. When there was a break in the rain we'd head to the park. Saturday we went skating at Starlite skating, ate lunch at Scotty's drive-in, and then went t...

Six Month Anniversary

Well, Kory and I have made it to six months. We both feel like we've been married for years. Kind of a weird time warp. On Saturday we decided to take a road trip to Star Valley because I had never been there and we like to just go on drives. Once we got there, we decided to go on to Montpelier and Bern, since that city was settled by Kunz's. My ancestors are also from that area, so we visited the St. Charles and Fish Haven cemeteries to see their graves. The original home site for John Kunz II. The view from the Fish Haven Cemetery At that point we just went on to Garden City and got a raspberry shake and then headed home through Logan. I showed him all my old apartments from Utah State days and we ate dinner at the Bluebird Cafe. We got home in time for Kory to mow the lawn and take a little bike ride. What a great day.

Vacation Day Four & Five

We let the kids sleep in as late as they wanted and then we went to Hogle Zoo. It was super busy there, but we had a great time. Again, Isaac was our guide to the zoo--he loves animals. Out of all of the big animals, the tiger was the most active and it was fun to watch. After the zoo we went to the Dinosaur Museum at Thanksgiving Point. The kids had fun playing around with the exhibits and watching some IMAX movies. That night we had dinner with friends and then headed back to the condo for one last swim. On Saturday, we woke up, cleaned up the condo and headed for home. Of course, we made two very important stops on the way--Swig and In n Out Burger. We were excited to get home because our neighbor told us that the landscaping guys redid our lawn while we were gone. As we pulled into home, we jumped out to take a look and I slammed Phoebe's hand in the car door. What a great way to end the vacation. ...

Vacation Day Three

On this day we just had the four younger kids, since the older kids had to get back to jobs and etc. We drove through Ogden Canyon to the Ogden Temple Open House. It was a beautiful temple and it was fun to answer the kid's questions about different parts of the temple. After that we went to a park and ate and changed clothes. We went to the Air Force Museum at Hill Air Force Base because Isaac loves planes. He was our guide and told us all about the different types of planes. He was in heaven. After that we were going to go to Hogle Zoo, but we were exhausted, so we went back to the condo and the kids played in the pool and I took a nap. After were felt rested up, we went for a ride on the Alpine Slide up in Park City and then ate dinner at a Mexican place. Back to the condo for more pool time and the kid stayed up late watching a movie.
