Summer Reading Program

So, in my ongoing quest to impose reading on my stepkids, he he, I made reading for 20 minutes part of the younger kids daily chores. It's going greaaaat (yes, that was sarcasm). Caleb has been rereading a Little Critters book over and over again, asking what time it is every few minutes. Today, when he was done, I told him he had used up all of his screen time for the day and needed to do something else. I later found him tying up an Elmo doll and forcing him to read---I am choosing to overlook the psychological implications here. FHE

For FHE we took the kids to the Idaho Falls Temple and they did the scavenger hunt they have in the visitor's center. After that we got a shaved ice at the train car.

Atomic City

Kory and I love to take drives to chill and relax. We headed out toward Arco and got up close and personal with the buttes and Atomic City. It's kind of eerie out there. I liked it.

Melaleuca Picnic

Saturday was the Melaleuca picnic. Boy do they know how to party. It's quite a shindig and the kids had a blast. Ziplines, horseback rides, bouncy toys, water balls, lots of free food. You name it. Kory had to work all day--he ran the helicopter rides.

Snapshots

These are a couple of pics I forgot to post. This is on the hill overlooking Kory's parents' house in Victor. Such a pretty view. We bought a new chair for the bedroom and Caleb kind of disappears in it when he has his Spiderman costume on.
