June 2022

June 2022 At the beginning of June, my wonderful friend Wendy came up from Utah and helped me organize my kitchen and pantry. She brought all of these cool containers and a label maker and made it look really great. That’s one of the best gifts anyone could give me because I LOVE organizing things. On June 2, Kierstin Holland from the English department stopped by with Crumbl cookies and one of the most beautiful flow arrangements I’ve ever seen. On June 4, Austin and Leah came over and brought pizza for everyone. We had fun playing with the kids, and Leah asked Phoebe to cut Kelson’s hair because it was getting out of control! On June 6 and 7, Kory and I went up to Island Park for a seminary teacher’s retreat. We stayed at Sawtelle Resort. We had dinner the night of the 6 th at the church in Island Park. In the morning, we divided into smaller groups and went to some different sites around Island Park and related different things to the gospel—Big Springs, the reservoir, et...

May 2022

Hold on to your hats, because May was a crazy month at our house.   On May 1, Kory and I went to the ward we will be attending when we move to LaBelle just for sacrament meeting. We loved the feeling and people there. They seemed like real salt of the earth folks. We came back to our ward after to do our callings.   On May 3, we took Madi and Quinton to Longhorn Steakhouse to celebrate Madi’s birthday.  On the 4 th , Morgan got braces on, so she ate lots of soft food.  On Friday, the 6 th I went to a Madison track meet to see Ainsley pole vault and to borrow some shoes from her for Chloe to go to Idaho Falls’ prom. On Saturday, the 7 th , Chloe spent most of the day on her date. They drove down to Salt Lake City to go to the aquarium, then they cam home, got ready, and went to the Teton House for dinner, and then the dance. She went with her friend Kael from school.  We also had a combined birthday party for Aiden, Madi, and Leah that night.   Aide...

April 2022

On April 1 Kory and I went up to Island Park for the night and then we drove home through Victor and Swan Valley while listening to conference. We had a chill weekend just listening to conference. On the 5th, we went to the temple with Austin and Leah.   On April 7-11, I went to Utah, since I had a break between semesters. On Thursday night, my friend Kristen and I drove to Eagle Mountain and stayed at my friend Wendy’s house. Brenda brought over these fun e-bikes and we rode around The Ranches for a while. The next day, my sister Jodi and my niece Grace drove over from Vernal and met us and then we all drove down to St. George. We stayed in a super nice condo in Washington—we each had our own rooms and bathrooms. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub a couple of times a day! On the 9 th , we did some biking on the Virgin River bike trail. Then Grace went to the jump park and practiced some jumps on her mountain bike. On the 10 th , we watched my sister’s sacrament meeting on...

March 2022

On March 4, Kory and I drove to Utah for a little weekend getaway. We stayed with Wendy and Bob. We had fun visiting with them on Friday and Saturday morning. On Saturday morning we also used their hottub with a great view of Utah Lake. Then Kory chilled downstairs while we had a little roommate reunion/ward reunion with friends from The Ranches. It ended up being such a fun visit and learning all that each person has been through in the past twenty years! On March 11, during the day I went on a department retreat up to Island Park at Sawtelle Resort. It was freezing!! That night, Kory and I went to the Marriott here in town and had a little pool party for Andy’s birthday.  On March 12, I went to lunch with my mom, Amy, and Kristi at Fresco’s in Rexburg. It’s always fun to visit with them.  On the 13 th , we invited whichever of the kids could make it to have cake—but we opted for pie and ice cream instead. We had a nice visit and the kids played games for a few hours....

February 2022

February 2022 On February 4, Kory and I went to dinner with the Rowe’s and then went to Madison’s boys’ basketball game. I ended up sitting with my sister, Kristi, most of the time. It was fun to watch Ainsley cheer and it also happened to be Senior night.  The next day, Kory and I went to Lava Hot Springs on the same day as this yearly Fire and Ice Festival, so it was way more crowded than usual, but still felt nice. On February 8, Kory took all the kids at home to Texas Roadhouse. Isaac was their server and Madi came and joined them for dinner. I was watching Ainsley’s cheer showcase as she prepared for State Cheer.  On Saturday, Kory and I went to the movie Death on the Nile. On February 10, I went with some of my family members to the Rexburg Temple to go through with Abby. She leaves on her mission to Nashville, TN in April. On February 11, Kory and I went to a Skyline Boys’ Basketball game. I ended up chatting with our neighbor Heidi Marlow for most of the game,...

January 2022

January was a fun mix of everyone getting sick and all of our cars breaking down! A new strain of COVID made the rounds and caused school shutdowns and remote classes. Caleb’s car stopped working and we tried changing spark plugs, checking fuel pumps and filter and etc, with no luck. Then the transmission on our Honda Pilot went out! On top of that, really cold weather. Not my favorite.  On January 3, we celebrated Phoebe’s 21 st birthday. On the 10 th , we went to watch Isaac’s girlfriend Lauren play volleyball. On the Martin Luther King Jr holiday we took Chloe and Morgan up to Island Park to the Marriott for an overnight stay. It was fun to eat out, play in the pool and hottub, and enjoy the pretty scenery. We had a little family gathering to watch football playoffs, do puzzles with the grandkids, eat and visit. All in all, a pretty mellow January.
