February 2020

February 2020 We always join Kory’s brothers for a SuperBowl watching party and this year everyone was pretty excited because the Kansas City Chiefs were in the game. Kory grew up in Lawrence, about half an hour from Kansas City, and he is a loyal fan to all of the Kansas teams. So, there was A LOT of hype for this one. In fact, when they were trailing for a while, Kory went upstairs and played on his phone so that he wouldn’t jinx the team. Let’s just say there were some VERY happy people when they won. And the food was great. I never really watch the game, because…. I don’t really understand football. But I love visiting and eating. On February 4 th , we had Friend’s birthday party. That week I played the piano for a musical number with people from the English Department for the All-Employee meeting. It was a little out-of-the-ordinary for the English Department to be asked and we all said, “Well, not bad for a bunch of English professors.” If they wanted experts I...

January 2020

Kory and I spent a snowy New Year’s Day inside doing a puzzle and having a Lord of the Ring’s Marathon. On the 2 nd , Isaac and Carlie returned from California and got back just in time to meet us at Fuji’s to celebrate Phoebe’s 19 th birthday. That night, Austin and Kory stayed up until 1:00 a.m. listening to music and finishing the puzzle. The next day we drove Carlie to Rexburg and helped her get into her new apartment because Isaac had to go to work at Texas Roadhouse. Another day, we met Joelle at the house she is remodeling and spent a couple of hours washing down the walls so she can repaint. On the 6 th , Chloe got her braces on. She was happy that the process wasn’t too painful, but her mouth was sore for a couple of days. Morgan was excited to start going to Young Women’s activities and Sunday meetings. The flu knocked Chloe out for a few days. Kory and I started up our BYUI classes again. Caleb has been having musical practice for Beauty and...

December 2019

On the first of December we put up the tree and other decorations with the help of the kids who were around. On December 4 th , we went to a Christmas party for the area seminary teachers and then went to Rexburg to hear Isaac sing with the Men’s Choir. Great concert! I was excited to start my 12 Days of Christmas tradition with Kory. He loved this sweater and wore it to work and the students loved it. On December 13 th , we all got together at Josh and Kasey’s because Grandpa Kunz and Aunt Lori were in town for a funeral on the 14 th . It was fun to hang around with everyone and we were excited to have Austin and Leah in town for the holidays with the two cuties Andy and Stevie. On the 14 th Kory and my mom and dad and I headed down to the Holt Arena for my ISU graduation. I didn’t ever walk when I got my Master’s degree, but this doctoral degree has taken ten years from start to finish and I really wanted a sense of closure. I’m glad I did. It was...
